This Emulsified Body Scrub recipe is perfect for everyone looking to make a simple, yet effective body scrub. Formulated to combine oil and water, this recipe allows even distribution of oil, creating a stable emulsification that results in a gentler, creamier scrubbing experience. Rich in vitamins and minerals, this body scrub helps to nourish the skin for a refreshed and revitalized feeling.
As with many of my recipes, it is easy to tweak many of the ingredients to create a unique product for your brand. To show how easy this is, I have included an extra two variations to the original formula with one being an Emulsified Coffee Scrub.
Once purchased, you will be able to download the file immediately from your account and it will be emailed. The document is written in both formula (percentages) and recipe (metric weight) format and has full instructions on how to create the lotion. The document also contains information about the ingredients, any substitutes you can use as well as other tweaks so you can customise the final product.
Ingredients you will need to make this recipe
- Emulsifying Wax (I use Cetearyl Alcohol/Ceteareth 20)
- Stearic Acid
- Olive Oil (Avocado Oil for one variation though not essential)
- Fractionated coconut Oil or Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride
- Shea Butter (Cocoa Butter for one variation)
- Castor Oil
- Natural Vitamin E
- Oil soluble preservative
- Essential and fragrance oil (Optional)
- Glycerin Based extracts such as Chamomile, Rosemary and Green Coffee Extract
- Exfoliants like sugar, poppy seeds and ground coffee
Please note this recipe is in metric measures. If you use imperial, you will need to convert yourself.
